Core principle: The platform automatically helps you choose the best option: it first reuses one of your existing idle machines at no charge, then recommends free public resources, and requires a new machine purchase only when necessary.

• Each user may have only one task at a time using the free machine

III. Three Selection Methods

When starting a backtest, select one of the following three ways to allocate a server in the dialog:

Method 1: Use a Free Machine

Run the backtest on shared public resources provided by the platform and use no NEC.

• Suitable for a single lightweight backtest or a quick validation of strategy logic

• May require queuing during peak periods

• If another of your tasks is already using the free machine, this option is disabled and displays "In use (strategy name)."

Method 2: Reuse an Idle Machine

A paid machine you purchased previously appears as "Idle" and can be reused if it is still within its validity period and is not currently running a task.

• No additional charge; use an existing resource directly

• Idle machines are shown in green and are the recommended first choice

• A machine running another backtest is Busy and cannot be selected

• The interface displays the machine's remaining validity period

Method 3: Purchase a New Machine

Select a machine specification and duration, then pay the corresponding NEC amount to create a dedicated backtest server.

• Select a specification → select a duration → confirm the fee → deduct the NEC balance

• You cannot purchase if your balance is insufficient; the confirmation button is disabled

• After creation, the machine enters initialization and automatically starts the backtest when ready

⚠️ Note: Machine purchases are non-refundable. Confirm the specification and duration carefully before purchasing.

IV. Duration and Discounts

When purchasing or renewing a machine, choose from the following durations. Longer durations receive discounts:

💡 Cost Formula

Total cost = Unit price (NEC/hour) × Duration (hours) × Discount factor

Example: t3.xlarge at 4.4 NEC/hour × 24 hours × 0.95 = 100.32 NEC

V. Automatic Selection

When the server-selection dialog opens, the system automatically recommends the best option while prioritizing avoidance of additional charges:

Check for idle machines first

If you own a purchased, unexpired idle machine → select it automatically at no additional charge

Use the free machine next

If no idle machine is available and your free-machine slot is not occupied → select the free machine by default

Recommend a paid option last

If another of your tasks is also occupying the free machine → recommend the first paid configuration automatically

VI. Renewal Rules

A purchased backtest machine can be renewed to extend its usage time. Renewals are also paid in NEC and receive the same discounts as an initial purchase.

🕐 Renewal before expiration

Time is added after the original expiration time, preserving all remaining time. For example, if the original expiration is 14:00, a four-hour renewal moves it to 18:00.

⏰ Renewal after expiration

Time is recalculated from the current time, and the machine automatically returns to Running. For example, renewing for two hours at 15:00 sets the new expiration to 17:00.

💡 Tip: Renewals can be stacked multiple times. The cumulative duration and total cost are recorded in the machine details. Renewals are also non-refundable.

VII. Expiration and Cleanup

A paid machine has a precise expiration time, after which the platform automatically reclaims its resources:

Each machine's expiration time is set at purchase or renewal, with minute-level precision

A scheduled platform task detects machines nearing expiration, automatically destroys their physical resources, and releases the capacity

After expiration, the machine status becomes Expired and it can no longer run tasks

An expired machine can be reactivated through renewal without purchasing it again

⚠️ Note: If a backtest is still running when its machine expires, the task may be interrupted. Monitor the remaining time and renew in advance when necessary.

Q: What is the difference between free and paid machines?

Q: Can I receive a refund after purchasing a machine?

No. Machine purchases and renewals are non-refundable. Confirm the specification and duration before proceeding.

Q: Can my idle machine run multiple backtests at once?

Q: What happens to a running task when the machine expires?

The platform reclaims the machine after expiration, so a running task may be interrupted. Before starting a task, confirm that sufficient time remains or renew the machine before it expires.

Q: What if my NEC balance is insufficient?

If your balance cannot cover the selected plan, the confirmation button is disabled. Select a lower specification, choose a shorter duration, or add NEC before purchasing.
